SEALING YOUR HOME OR OFFICE
IS THE BEST METHOD OF BED BUG PREVENTION
AS NEW YORKER'S THE MAJORITY OF US LIVE IN BUILDINGS THAT HAVE NUMEROUS APARTMENTS OR UNITS UNDER THE SAME ROOF; WHICH USUALLY MEANS IF YOUR UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR HAS A FLOOD YOU WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE A LEAK... THE SAME GOES FOR BED BUGS. EVEN IN FIRE PROOF BUILDINGS THERE ARE CONDUITS FOR HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING, GAS, PLUMBING, AND THE MOST ABUNDANT, ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTING. TO BREAK THIS DOWN, THERE IS EITHER PVC OR METAL TUBING THAT ENCASES YOUR ELECTRIC POWER THAT IS CONECTED THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE BUILDING, CREATING A HIGHWAY FOR BED BUGS TO MOVE EASILY FROM APARTMENT TO APARTMENT. A COMMON MISCONCEPTION IS THAT BED BUGS LIVE ONLY IN YOUR BED. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. THEY ALSO LIVE IN CRACKS, CREVASIS, AND EVEN YOUR ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTING OUTLETS AND WALL PLATES. THIS IS WHY SEALING YOUR HOME OR WORKPLACE IS THE FRONT LINE OF DEFFENSE AGAINST AN INFESTATION.
HERE’S WHAT WE DO…
• Seal around plumbing, heating and electrical conduits
• Install a breathable mesh material behind vents in the kitchen and bath
• Seal baseboard molding throughout apartment
• Remove receptacle cover plates; seal voids around electrical box; install
• Fire-retardant gaskets; replace the cover plates then caulk around the cover plates
IN CLOSING WE WILL SEAL YOUR SPACE METHODICALLY TO GIVE YOU THE UPPER HAND IN THE BATTLE AGAINST BED BUGS

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do bed bugs only come out at night?
A:
No. Although a bed bug prefers hiding in dark places, they will feed
during the day if conditions are favourable. Ex. Curtains closed, blinds
down, lights out, no disruptions, desperately seeking food, etc.
Q: Do bed bug mattress covers work?
A:
Mattress covers do not eliminate the problem, but do take away common
hiding spots such as the seams. This makes a bed bug easier to spot. A
mattress cover will also preserve the mattress by protecting it from
feces and blood stains.
Q: Can I get rid of bed bugs myself?
A:
Not likely. A trained pest control technician has expertise and
experience that is essential for successful bed bug eradication. To
properly treat the problem, there are multiple areas of the home that
need to be prepared and treated, not just the bed. Moreover, over the
counter pesticides are ineffective compared to professional grade
treatments.
Q: Can bed bugs spread disease?
A: At this point, there is no scientific evidence that bed bugs can spread disease.
Q: Can I solve my problem by leaving the house for a month or two?
A:
No. A bed bug can survive without food for up to a year! Therefore
unfortunately, leaving the home for several months will not force the
extinction of your bed bug problem.
